The Economic and Environmental Sustainability (EES) project, implemented by AMU in partnership with Tearfund, is a two-year initiative (December 2022–February 2025) aimed at improving the economic well-being and environmental sustainability of communities in Kayonza District, Rwanda, specifically in the Mukarange and Nyamirama sectors.

The project supports vulnerable households through sustainable livelihoods such as energy-saving stove production, agroforestry, composting, and nursery-bed enterprises managed by self-help groups (SHGs). It also focuses on climate resilience, environmental awareness, and skills training, with the overarching goal of reducing poverty and enhancing community sustainability.
