Scoping Study for Scaling and Sustaining the VSLA/SGs Model in Rwanda

This project is a scoping study on scaling and sustaining Savings Groups (SGs) and Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) in Rwanda, commissioned by CARE International. The study aims to analyze the current landscape of savings groups, assess their performance, and identify opportunities and challenges affecting their sustainability and scale. 

Through consultations with stakeholders, including savings group members, village agents, government institutions, and financial service providers, the study will propose a standardized and sustainable community-based model, along with a scalable business plan, capacity strengthening strategy, and a monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning framework to support the long-term growth of savings groups in Rwanda.
